Pretas jogam — encontre a melhor continuação

How to recognize this tactic

A mate in one hides among forcing checks. Run through every check you can give: does it cover all the king's escape squares, is the checking piece safe or supported, and can nothing block or capture it? If yes, that is the mate.

General method: before you move, list the forcing candidates — every check, every capture, every direct threat — and calculate those first. The solution to a tactic is almost always among them.

Posição no tabuleiro

Brancas: rei c1, dama d2, torre d7, bispo g2 e3, peão a2 c2 b3 h3 e4 g5.

Pretas: rei c8, dama c3, torre h7, bispo e5, cavalo e6, peão a6 g6 b7 f7.

Há 11 peças brancas e 9 pretas no tabuleiro; a posição do problema surge após o lance 29.

The position in numbers

White are ahead by 2 points of material (26 against 24; pawn = 1, knight and bishop = 3, rook = 5, queen = 9) — the tactic has to convert or outweigh that.

The white king stands on c1, the black king on c8.

It is Black to move on move 29, with 44 legal replies to weigh — only the line that keeps the advantage solves the puzzle.

White keeps 6 pawns, Black 4. Files fully open (no pawns of either colour): d — natural highways for the rooks and queen. Half-open for Black: c, e, h.

White hold the bishop pair, an edge in open lines. The Black king has 1 empty squares to step to right now — the fewer they are, the closer a mating net.

Tipos neste problema
