How to recognize this tactic
A fork is one piece attacking two targets at once. Look for a knight, pawn or queen move that lands where it hits the king (or a bigger piece) and a second undefended unit on the same turn — the opponent can save only one.
General method: before you move, list the forcing candidates — every check, every capture, every direct threat — and calculate those first. The solution to a tactic is almost always among them.

超载：一名守卫同时肩负两项任务——比如既保护棋子，又看守做杀的格子。两份工作它干不过来：你的第一击迫使它处理一项职责——放弃另一项。找出那个劳模棋子：问问如果它被支开，它照看的每个对象会怎样。然后打其中一个目标、收下另一个——超载的守卫只是在假装防守。
