How to recognize this tactic
In Chess960 the pieces start on unfamiliar squares, so tactics appear earlier and from unusual angles. Do not trust classical patterns — read the actual lines of the bishops, the rooks and the queen from where they really stand in this position.
From some Chess960 setups a bishop or queen rakes a long diagonal straight from move one. Trace those long-range lines into the enemy camp: a single opened file or diagonal can create an immediate pin, skewer or mating threat.
A mate in one hides among forcing checks. Run through every check you can give: does it cover all the king's escape squares, is the checking piece safe or supported, and can nothing block or capture it? If yes, that is the mate.
An uncastled king in the centre is a standing target. Look for ways to open the central files and diagonals against it with checks and threats before it can shelter — every tempo the king spends in the middle is a chance for a combination.
General method: before you move, list the forcing candidates — every check, every capture, every direct threat — and calculate those first. The solution to a tactic is almost always among them.

浮き駒とは、守られておらず、ただで取れる駒のことです。原始的に聞こえますが、アマチュアの対局の大半はまさにこれで決まります。習慣を作りましょう。毎手指す前に盤全体を見渡し、敵味方を問わず守られていない駒をすべてチェックするのです。よくある過ちは、身をかがめて贈り物を拾えばいいだけの場面で、華麗なコンビネーションを探し回ることです。
