Pièce en prise : ton adversaire a laissé une pièce sans défense — prends-la.

How to recognize this tactic
A hanging piece is one that is attacked and not defended, or defended too few times. Count attackers against defenders on each enemy unit; where attackers win, take it — often with an in-between move or a check to gain the extra tempo.
General method: before you move, list the forcing candidates — every check, every capture, every direct threat — and calculate those first. The solution to a tactic is almost always among them.
Position sur l'échiquier
Blancs : roi g1, dame d8, fou a3 f3, pion b2 f2 g2 h3.
Noirs : roi g8, dame g6, fou f8, cavalier d7, pion h5 b6 f7 g7.
Il y a 8 pièces blanches et 8 noires sur l'échiquier ; la position du problème survient après le coup 32.
The position in numbers
Material is level — 19 points of pieces on each side (pawn = 1, knight and bishop = 3, rook = 5, queen = 9).
The white king stands on g1, the black king on g8.
It is White to move on move 32, with 34 legal replies to weigh — only the line that keeps the advantage solves the puzzle.
White keeps 4 pawns, Black 4. Files fully open (no pawns of either colour): a, c, d, e — natural highways for the rooks and queen.
White hold the bishop pair, an edge in open lines. The White king has 3 empty squares to step to right now — the fewer they are, the closer a mating net.
Solution et explication
Ligne principale
32. Qxd7 Bxa3 33. bxa3
Pourquoi ça marche
- Excellent coup ! dame en d7 maintient la pression (+5.0).
- Excellent coup ! pion en a3 maintient la pression (+5.5).
- Vous gagnez une pièce : fou.
- Si à la place Bxa3, alors bxa3 et vous gagnez fou.
Move by move
- 32. Qxd7 — dame to d7 (capture)
- Bxa3 — fou to a3 (capture)
- 33. bxa3 — pion to a3 (capture)
Types de ce problème
Coup gagnant
