How to recognize this tactic
A pin freezes a piece in front of a more valuable one behind it. Scan the ranks, files and diagonals your bishop, rook or queen controls: if an enemy piece cannot move without exposing its king or queen, it is pinned and can be piled on or bypassed.
Here the task is defensive: one of your pieces is under attack and must be rescued without losing more. Look for a move that saves it with tempo — a counter-check, an equal counter-attack or an interposition — rather than a passive retreat.
A trapped piece has no safe square. Spot an enemy piece that has wandered offside or been hemmed in, then play the move that takes away its last escape and wins it — often a quiet pawn push or a covering minor piece.
General method: before you move, list the forcing candidates — every check, every capture, every direct threat — and calculate those first. The solution to a tactic is almost always among them.

खुला हमला

मोहरे की हिफ़ाज़त: आपका मोहरा हमले में है, और काम है उसे मुफ़्त में न गँवाना। तरीक़े कई हैं: टेम्पो के साथ हटना, रक्षा देना, हमले के आगे आड़ लगाना, या उससे तगड़ी जवाबी धमकी खड़ी करना। मशीनी ढंग से पीछे हटने से पहले हमले वाला पीछे-हटाव खोजें — मोहरा भी बचेगा और वक़्त भी कमाएँगे। आम ग़लती — घबराकर पहले मिले खाने पर भाग जाना, जहाँ मोहरा फिर धर लिया जाता है।
