How to recognize this tactic
Deflection drags a defender away from its duty. Identify the enemy piece that guards a key square or mate, then force it to move — with a check, a capture or a threat it must answer — and strike where it no longer defends.
A fork is one piece attacking two targets at once. Look for a knight, pawn or queen move that lands where it hits the king (or a bigger piece) and a second undefended unit on the same turn — the opponent can save only one.
In a mate in three every move must be forcing; the defender should never get a free tempo. Find the check or threat that herds the king, calculate the single defence to each, and confirm the net closes on the third move.
General method: before you move, list the forcing candidates — every check, every capture, every direct threat — and calculate those first. The solution to a tactic is almost always among them.

तीन चालों में जबरन शह-मात।
तीन चाल में मात — जबरन सीढ़ी: आपकी हर चाल विरोधी के विकल्प घटाती है, और तीसरी नुक़्ता लगा देती है। शुरुआत शहों और बलिदानों में खोजें: मात की पहेलियों में शांत पहली चालें दुर्लभ हैं, पर धूर्त होती हैं। दिमाग़ में वेरिएशनों का पेड़ रखें: हर बचाव की अपनी शाखा। दूसरी चाल पर गिनती न छोड़ें — मात की आख़िरी तस्वीर अपनी आँखों से देखनी होगी।
रॉयल फोर्क
शह के साथ फोर्क: राजा को हटना पड़ता है और दूसरा मोहरा हाथ से जाता है।
शाही फ़ोर्क शह के साथ लगने वाला फ़ोर्क है: दो निशानों में से एक ख़ुद राजा है। शह का जवाब सबसे पहले देना ज़रूरी है, इसलिए दूसरे मोहरे को बचाने वाला कोई नहीं बचता। ऐसे खाने खोजें जहाँ से आपका मोहरा शह दे और साथ ही असुरक्षित वज़ीर या हाथी पर हमला करे। यह फ़ोर्क का सबसे भरोसेमंद रूप है, क्योंकि विरोधी के पास सचमुच कोई विकल्प नहीं होता।
पिन हुए मोहरे की जीत
पिन हुआ मोहरा भाग नहीं सकता — उस पर फिर से हमला करें और उसे जीत लें।
पिन हुआ मोहरा भाग नहीं सकता — यानी उस पर बस एक बार और हमला करके उसे पूरा का पूरा जीता जा सकता है। हमलावरों और रक्षकों को गिनें: अगर हमलावर ज़्यादा हैं, तो मोहरा आपका है। सबसे अच्छा दूसरा हमलावर प्यादा है: वह उन सबसे सस्ता है जिन्हें वह मार सकता है। तुरंत मारने की जल्दी न करें — पहले दबाव बढ़ाएँ, फिर फ़सल काटें।
